The Reboot fellowship partners with a Jewish cultural institution such as a museum or archive to take a deep dive into the collections to remix and reimagine them for new audiences. The Reboot Fellowship leverages the creative R&D potential of the Reboot network to amplify these underexposed collections and create to constituents. Seeing the cultural significance of this fellowship, Reboot and the Council of American Jewish Museums established a partnership to identify institutions, establish best practices for museums to consider outside collaboration and to create ongoing venues to exhibit new work.
The initial fellowship pilot with the Yiddish Book Center yielded a translation of the pulpy short stories from the never before translated Max Spitzkopf series, notable for being the "Yiddish Sherlock Holmes" and also for being Isaac Bashevis Singer's favorite childhood character, two screenplay adaptations of Lamed Shapiro short stories and a museum exhibit based on the artist duo Yosl Culter and Zuni Maude.
